Based on this reason, the size of the unit can be reduced. If runner blade and gate operating mechanism acted together, its mean frequency will be higher than Francis turbine, even more during the loading zone. So it is more proper to low water head station and the power station with great changing load. The specific speed range is n_s=200~850 in general and the water head is H=3~80 meters.
